The Northern Palm Beach Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) announced the changing of the guard as they recently named their upcoming 2014-2015 officers.
Pat Key was chosen as president. Key joined ABWA in 1985 and has served the organization in many capacities including president, vice president and treasurer. She has been editor of the newsletter as well as chair of various chapter committees. Key was selected as Woman of the Year in 1994 and again in 2004.The Lake Park resident works part-time at TBC Wholesale in Palm Beach Gardens. She is also a personal caregiver and BeautiControl consultant.
Serving as vice president is Dottie Smith, who has been with the ABWA since 1997. Smith, no stranger to leadership roles within the organization, has served as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, newsletter editor and on the ABWA National Nominating Committee in Minneapolis, MN.
Secretary Rebecca Ott may be a newbie to the group, joining this past February, but the organization already has every confidence in her. It may be due to her experience as CEO of the Helix and MedStat Urgent Care Centers. Ott is also the president of Practice Solutions of Florida. The Lake Worth resident is currently launching a new company in Florida called Jewel Kade.
The ABWA can rest assured that their money is in good hands as Janice Kuhns becomes their latest treasurer. The Jupiter resident and ABWA member since 2000 works for as a greeter for pharmaceutical company Sancilio and Company Inc. in Riviera Beach, where she assists in quality assurance, production, and their human resources departments.
The ABWA is on a mission to bring a diverse group of businesswomen together to provide opportunities for them. They strive to help members grow both personally and professionally. According to their website, the organization does this through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
