Seacoast National Bank and non-profit organization Helping People Succeed, Inc. brought holiday joy a little early this year by hosting an event to benefit the 2012 Art for Living Calendar. A sponsorship check of $7,500 was donated and the bank held a calendar signing in the main lobby of Seacoast Bank in Stuart. This sponsorship will also benefit other events taking place in 2012.
A $50 ticket gave local residents the opportunity to not only help the organization, but also have their calendar signed by the artists amongst its pages. Supported by 13 local artists and 15 area businesses, this year marked the first in the calendar’s 16 years wherein a student was included. Ariana Martinez the award winner for Student Visual Art from Clark Advanced Learning Center joined other calendar artists: Jackie Brice, Barbara Lapham, Kelly Arnold, Janeen Mason, Mimi McCallum, Carol Kepp, Dan Mackin, Ginny Jones, Susan Roberts, Julia Kelly, Pam Patterson and Colleen Nash Becht.
Local Florida scenery lends the inspiration used by the artists to help make the calendar the success that it is. Not only will the calendar be a beautiful way to keep track of the days, but one can feel good in knowing that the community will benefit from the following services provided by Helping People Succeed:
- 3,000+ children and their families become ready for school and productive futures;
- 500+ adults who have a disability find and obtain employment as taxpaying citizens;
- 70+ adults learn about their community and gain skills so employment will become a reality;
- Hundreds of school children remain in their classroom through behavior management and the community becomes more viable through the diversity of its residents.
